Writing has always been in my blood ever since my primary school days. I used to write before in our school newspaper-feature articles section at the age of 11. I know it has always been my passion together with arts however, due to some circumstance, I slowly got dragged away from those passion. Being an 11-year-old kid and graduating from primary school, I felt like there was a lot in my hand. So, I let go of writing in the newspaper and left it to the scholars (top students).
More than 15 years later, I realized how important writing was for me. During my high school and university, I knew deep inside the flame was still there but there were a lot of things going on and I couldn’t find myself to focus on my passion. I was able to use it sometimes during projects and assignments but that was it. No matter how I love to start writing my own book or article let’s say, I just couldn’t find the will to start it.
Moving forward to present, I am currently 27, engaged and expecting a baby boy in 3 months’ time. I am working in a Call Center company right now, but I am stationed at home. Suddenly, with all the covid-19 situation where we are all stuck at home, I felt the fire burning immensely inside me again. This time, I won’t let it be gone so quick. I got no excuse now to reject the idea of writing again because we all have plenty amount of time in our hands. That’s why this blog was born.
To make it all simple, I will list down more specific reasons why I decided to blog.
1. Writing has always been my passion.
I might have discussed this already in my not so short intro so you got it guys. If you think that writing is something you enjoy like me then you must consider starting your own blog. 😊
2. There are lots of time available for me right now.
This pandemic has affected the world’s health and our lifestyle as well. A lot of us are just staying at home right now, some with job most are without so why not take this opportunity to do something for yourself growth and to share your knowledge to people?
3. I need a channel to voice out my opinion and thoughts without being judged.
Social media sites had gotten a toll out of me. I am actually Facebook-free since half of 2019 simply because I hate the toxicity I see there. People are so judgmental but will still follow you in these platforms whether they are your friends or not so I decided to stop using it for good. Sometimes, anonymity is the best when you want to voice out something about your life without your family and friends talking about it behind you.
4. Blogging could be my side-hustle to earn money if I do it right.
Expecting a baby means expecting extra expenses as well, so let’s be practical here. I know some of you might say, if blogging or writing is your passion money shouldn’t be in your mind. You are right, but this channel offers a lot of opportunity for those who are willing to learn and I am one of them. What’s wrong with hoping to be paid on something you are exerting your time and effort to create right?
5. I want to build a community where we could share our experiences.
I think I saved the best for last; this is the most satisfying and worthwhile benefit of blogging for me. You meet people from all over the world, with the same passion and interest as you. You’ll gain friends without knowing it.
That’s it from me. See you on my next blog.
Lots of love
